According to statistics, the GMV growth rate of beauty products on Taobao and Tmall during the Double 11 online channel was 25.8%, accounting for 50.6% of the total on the entire platform. The sales of cosmetics on Douyin during the Double 11 shopping festival increased by 69.01% year-on-year. Among them, the sales of the skin care and makeup categories rose by 76.81% and 61.44% respectively year-on-year. The growth rate of facial makeup was 66.81%, accounting for 62.22% of the total makeup sales. The growth rate of lip makeup was 84.29%, accounting for 17.61%.

Brand ranking on Double Eleven

On a certain cat skincare category, 45 brands achieved sales of over 100 million yuan, 23 brands exceeded 200 million yuan, and 2 brands exceeded 1 billion yuan. Among them, a well-known domestic brand consistently ranked first from the first day of pre-sale until November 11th, and was among the top10 during the official sales period on Douyin. The ratio of foreign to domestic brands was 5:5, with domestic brands moving up in the ranking.

Highlights of categories on Double Eleven

In terms of skin care, the sales of medical dressings increased by 593.08% year-on-year. Under the category of facial skin care, care sets were selling well, with a sales share of 28.55%. In terms of makeup and perfume, the growth rate of facial makeup was 66.81%, and that of lip makeup was 84.29%.

Strengthened supervision

On November 28th, the National Medical Products Administration issued a notice stating that 40 batches of cosmetics did not meet the regulations, among which 33 batches were sunscreen products and 2 batches were infant and toddler skin care products.

"Us" monthly financial report
